There are many types of email accounts, each with their own configuration settings. A common problem is that sometimes important emails are mistaken for Spam and sent to the Junk folder instead of the Inbox. â€‹This page describes our recommendations for ensure that you receive our "alert" emails, that contain stock market announcements that match items from your Alerts Watchlist. If you would like any more information or assistance in this area, let us know.

Email How-To

These are some of the things you can try to ensure important emails go to your Inbox (or other designated folder) instead of the Junk/Spam folder. As there are various types of email accounts, it is sometimes a matter of trying one or more of the following steps to see what works for your email account.

  • Add our domain to your Safe Senders list

  • Add a specific email address to your contacts list (e.g. our alerts email address is alerts@stockmarketsnaps.com)

  • Set up a Filter or Rule based on the sender address, so that all emails from that sender go to a designated folder. Some email providers also have an option to "Never send to Junk".

Inbox vs Junk

It's probably fair to say that most of us, as email users, usually don't check our email every minute of the day.
So when it comes to any type of urgent emails, nothing beats Mobile App Push Notifications. We are currently developing a custom app for stock market notifications, however, in the mean time, this article outlines a method for customizing push notifications when receiving our alerts by email.

Notification Overload
A common problem with email is that usually push notifications are either "all or nothing", meaning that email apps display a notification every time you receive an email. This tends to bombard the user with too many notifications, given how many emails we tend to receive on a daily basis from various sources, many of which are not usually urgent. Sometimes settings can be confusing to navigate when searching for options to narrow down email notifications from senders that are high priority.

Lots of Apps and Settings
We have tried several of the most common mobile apps, in an attempt to find the ideal app and settings for stock market company announcements, specifically for email push notifications. Some of the apps appeared to be "hit and miss", where push notifications worked sometimes but appear to mysteriously stop working. Given there are several types of mobiles and operating systems, it can be hard to know what the problem is exactly (compatibility etc), or sometimes an app works well for some users and not others.

Microsoft Outlook
In our experience, we found that the Outlook Email Mobile App is a great option for using our alerts service. Mobile push notifications are easy to configure and were found to work reliably.

We've outlined the steps below to configure your email with the Outlook app, to help our emails go to your Inbox folder and ensure you receive mobile push notifications.

Configuring the Outlook App
This is where the push notifications are configured so that you get a notification for every email alert we send you.

See our YouTube video at the top of the page for the steps outlining how to configure the Outlook App.

Mobile Push Notifications

The steps outlined above are the minimal steps that we recommend for using our email alerts service, there are many other email settings that can be configured to suit your needs, try experimenting to see what works for you.
